For this Nuremberg-based real estate client, the brief was to create a meaningful gift for associates and long-standing partners, one that expressed appreciation through craftsmanship and lasting value. This ceramic commission also called for subtle custom branding.
We returned to one of the oldest ceramic forming techniques: pinching. Each cup is shaped entirely by hand, carrying the trace of hundreds of fingerprints. Every mark becomes part of the object's identity, making each piece unmistakably unique while celebrating the human touch behind its making.
To contrast this tactile surface, the cups were finished with a black glossy glaze. Almost lacquer-like, it flows across the irregularities. The client's logo is recessed into the foot, allowing the glaze to define the engraved mark with subtle precision.
